BANDIT ATROCITY
ASSAULT AND ROBBERY ' MEN BLINDED WITH PEPPER. ONE SHOT IN GROIN. [United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright! (Received 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 9. While two men were carrying bags of money and a payroll for a local department store at Darlinghurst today, they were attacked by bandits. Pepper was thrown in their eyes, a shot was fired and a sum of £2O was stolen. The bandits escaped in a motor car.
The victims of the outrage were Messrs George Oakman, aged 66, and Leslie Glyd, aged 44. The former was shot in the groin. Both men are in hospital. They are in no danger, but are suffering intense pain from the pepper in their eyes.
