MORE TRACTOR TROUBLE.

LEADER ALTERS PLANS. (Received 9 a.m.) , : NEW YORK, November 7.A wireless message from the Byrd Antarctic Expedition at Little America states: — Because the tractor’s advance to the Queen Maude Range is blocked by an impenetrable belt of pressure ridges and crevasses, Rear-Admiral Byrd has ordered Dr. Blackburn’s geological party to proceed to the range independently, using dog teams, in order to carry out the original mission. Mr Morgan’s plateau party, which, intends to take seismic soundings to determine the thickness of the continental ice-sheet, has been ordered to consolidate with the tractor unit and. proceed eastward to the unexplored area.
