BRADMAN BATS

FIRST CLAIM MADE.

CONVENT SCHOOL BOY. FOUR WICKETS WITH FOUR BALLS. The first claim for one of the “Northern Advocate’s” Don Bradman bat awards has been made. In a B grade primary school match between Convent and Whau Valley, yesterday, Frank Jenyns, aged 12, of the Convent School, took four wickets with four consecutive balls. The boy and his mates quickly sent in one of the necessary coupons. The award will not be made until Tuesday, to allow time for any other claims to be put in. Despite Frank Jenyns’ prowess in taking the four wickets on end, Whau Valley proved too good and won the match by 20 runs to 12, The game was a B. grade primary school competition match, and was the first of the season.
