ARMISTICE DAY
ON SUNDAY THIS YEAR
ARCHBISHOP’S MESSAGE,
LONDON, September 15
In view of the fact that Armistice Day (November 11) will fall on a Sunday this year, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Cosmo Gordon Lang, has advised the Bishops of the Church of England that he has communicated with the Government regarding the King’s wishes. It is hoped that religious services will specially‘refer to the memories, hopes and resolves surrounding Armistice Day. It has been arranged to enable the silence to be observed within the churches exactly at 11 a.m. Dr. Lang is communicating with other religious rommunions.
