Keall, of Hatea Street. <s> 3> ❖ 's> Miss Beryl Piggott, of Hotel Windsor, Whangarei, left by the express today to take up residence in Auckland. & <j> <s> <S> Mrs Neil Mac Kay has returned to Auckland after spending a week’s holiday with Mr and Mrs C. Edge, Kiripaka Road. <s><*><?><s> Miss Gladys Wilton and Miss Hazel Peachey, of Whangarei, have been. spending a delightful holiday as the , guests of Mrs Faulkner, Remuera, Auckland. ■ <s> <S> <S> <S> <S> Mr and Mrs J. W. Civil, Mrs Clemett, Mrs Hanna, Miss H. Civil and Mrs S. Clarke have returned to Te Awamutu after spending a few days in Whangarei. ‘ <S> <s> <s> <S> Mr and'Mrs A. Dickens, of Te Mai Road, Whangarei, are visiting their son who is engaged at the Waitaki (Oamaru) hydro-electric works. Afterwards they intend making a general tour of the South Island. <s> <?> <e> <S> <S> Last Saturday evening a very happy time was spent at Tauraroa by those who assembled to play “500” and dance. The cards’ contest were won by Mrs. Milton and Mr. A, Milton, jnr. After supper dancing was much enjoyed. <S> 3> ■ . A third of a series of social evenings organised by the Ladies’ Committee of the ■ S.P.C.A. was held on Wednesday last in Miss Pelita’s dance hall. The evening was most successful, the hall being filled to capacity. Included in the programme were novelty dances and a tap dance by Mrs and Miss Lacey. Songs were contributed by Mrs Barnaby, Mr Milton West and the little Misses Moore, and a humorous recitation by Miss Molly Staple. I I '■ ENGAGEMENT. | The engagement is announced of Eileen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Neale, of Marua, to Frank, third son of Mr and Mrs S. S. Hawkins, of Hikurangi. .
