SEVERELY SCALDED
FALL INTO HOT POOL. CONDITION VERY SERIOUS. (Per Press Association.—Copyright.) ROTORUA, This Day, A young woman, Miss Pettit, of Union Street, Rotorua, was admitted to the King George Hospital last night suffering from severe scalds received through falling into a hot pool in the Kuiru Reserve. Her condition was reported at a late hour to be very serious. Miss Pettit, it is understood, was with companions in the reserve when the accident occurred. She was taken first to her home, but when the serious nature of her injuries was seen, an ambulance was summoned for her removal to • hospital. The Kuiru Reserve, which a.djoins the hospital grounds, was comparatively recently put into order and opened to the public. Its many large pools of mineral waters of various temperatures are fringed with scrub.
