ESSENTIAL LACKING

TOWN WHARF FACILITIES. COMMENT IN AUCKLAND. The urgent need for the erection of conveniences at the Town Wharf for the use of yachtsmen and others, was stressed at the annual meeting of the Whangarei Cruising Club last night. The secretary said that, when in Auckland recently, he had spoken, to members of practically every yachting club, and they had agreed that the facilities at Whangarei were excellent, except for this one feature. They had promised to give full support to any move in the direction of righting this. Mr W. Reynolds said that the work would not be very expensive, and it was an urgent necessity especially in the summer, when large numbers of visiting craft were moored at the Town Basin. It was decided to send a letter to the Whangarei Harbour Board and the Whangarei Borough Council urging that the work be done before the coming season.
