There were) crowded gatherings, ;md the market! was fully equal to the Brisbane clos-j ing rates, but, compared with the opening rales of last season in ‘Syd-j nev. best-grown wool showed a fall ol ! g() per (•(■■ill. In the ease of average to inferior descriptions, the decline ranged from L’O to per cent. The highest price of the day for greasy merino' fleece was 17d, for five bales from Mandurama. There was good competition, mainly from Japan and Yorkshire, with strong support from loeal mills, and a moderate demand from the Continent. The offerings totalled .SOtid bales, of whieh 0070 were sold. Also 2070 bales were sold privately. BRADFORD EASIER. (Received 10 a.in.) LONDON, September 0. There is an easier tendency in the wool trade. Sixty-fours are obtainable at g7Li per lb.
