SALVATION ARMY CHIEF
BALLOT ON AUGUST 28. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 9 a.m.) RUGBY, August 9. Delegates from 22 countries will attend the meeting of the Salvation Army’s High Council, which'is to be hold in London on August 28, to elect a .successor to General Higgins, who will retire from the leadership on November ■}. The election will be by ballot, and a. two-thirds majority will be required before a now general can be appointed. Nothing in the laws governing the Salvation Army precludes a woman becoming general. The sister and daughter of the late General Bramwoll Booth both hold high rank In the,list of officers.
