Bon Foord, the young Springbok middleweight now campaigning in Great Britain, had a sensational win in the chief preliminary bout to the Tarrante-Len Harvey /light in London in April. He knocked out Eddie Phillips, considered one of the best lightheavyweights in England. A 1 McCoy (Boston) is considered to have a good chance of becoming the world’s next middleweight champion. He has a record of 67 bouts, 64 wins, two losses, and a. draw. His last unofficial victory was over Vince Dundee, American middleweight champion, who received the official verdict.
,loc Ghnouly, one of the American boxers imported by the National Boxing Club, Australia, has agreed to have three more contests under the club’s control. In his three previous contests lie beat Jimmy Kelso and Tod Morgan, and lost to Kelso.
Larry Gains, the Canadian negro who lost the British Empire heavyweight boxing title to Lcn Harvey (since beaten by Jack Petersen), recently defeated Ernst Guhring (Germany).
Jack Sharkc.y, former world’s heavyweight champion, is now promoting fights in Boston, his home city, in opposition to the Boston Madison Square Garden.
Walter Neusel, the young German heavyweight, who has beaten King I.evinsky and Tommy Loughran, has refused a purse of £4OOO to fight Jack Petersen, British Empire champion, in London. Neusel now regards himself as in line to fight a bout with the world’s champion, Max Baer.
