Following the precedent at the inauguration of Presidents, Herr Hitler has proclaimed an amnesty for many men and Avomeu Avho are serving loss than six months for criminal and political offences. The order excludes those imprisoned- 'during tho Nazi .rouud-Aip of June 30.

The Government has also issued an amnesty to persons guilty of slandering Herr Hitler, provided the crime was committed before the late President’s death. Tho amnesty does not apply to those guilty of treason or : ttempted murder. What is described as a generous investigation of suspects noAV in concentration camps is to be conduct'd, with a view to the liberation of the loss serious offenders.
