CHILD DROWNED
WANDERED INTO A CREEK. 0 ROMA HOE TRAGEDY. A child named Leonard Holliday, aged 1 year and S months, a son of; Mr A. .T. Halliday, of Oromahoe, near I’akaraka, was accidentally drowned on. Sunday afternoon. The boy was playing round a shed where the father was working and then, presumably, wandered down to a near-by creek. He was soon, missed and a search resulted in the finding of the body caught in a fence a couple of chains down the creek. Artificial respiration was resorted to and Dr. Frengley was called in, but he could only pronounce life to be extinct. Mr T, Guerin, coroner, hold an inciucst yesterday and returned a verdict of accidental death from drowning.
