THE HIGH SCHOOL
MEETING- OF BOARD. TEACHER RESIGNS. The Whangarei High School Board met last evening, Mr H. C. Rishworth, the chairman, presiding. The majority of the business was routine. Miss W. Lamb, resigned from the position of resident house mistress at the girls’ hostel,' the hoard accepting her resignation, with-, regret and ox- , pressing appreciation of her services. 'The resignation will take effect from tho end Of the term. .Miss Lamb will still continue to teach at the school. Another resignation, that of Mr R. D. Thomson from tho position of assistant master in the intermediate school was also accepted with regret, and appreciation was expressed of Mr Thomson’s services!
A verbal report stated that the grounds were in excellent condition. ;■ The principal, Air A. R. Ryder, reported that the present term ended on August 17, and that the third term commenced on September 11.
The geheral health of the boarders, he reported, had been excellent during the winter, in spite of a few cases of mild gastric trouble in Lupton House. Quo boarder, K. Rika, was unfortunate in breaking, ah arm during the Takapuha, match* He is making good progress!'
