KAMO PIG SALE
KEEN DEMAND. Tin- North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op., Ltd., report holding a pig sale at Kamo on Friday. Though the weather had a dampening effect, the sale was very successful. Only about onc-third of the advertised number of pigs came forward, and these met with a keen demand. Prices were as follows: — Large stores, 27/ to 02/; medium stores, 22/ to 26/6; small stores, 18/ to 21/9; slips, 14/ to 17/(1; weaners, 1.1/ to J.’!/; purebred Tamworth sows, •‘igns. to sgns.; pedigree Tamworth boars, 4gns. to 6gns.; purebred weaner Tamworth sows, l-lgns. to 2gns.; weaner Tamworth boars, I igns. to 4gns.; sows to farrow, £.‘l to £4 15/; aged boars, (5/ to 25/. Mr Graham Given topped the sale with a very fine M-montlis-old Tamworth boar, this pig making (igns. -Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: Fair yarding of pigs was submitted to a large attendance of buyers, who wore present from all parts of the district, and competition was keen throughout, most particularly for good weaners and good sows. Baconers made £2 12/0 to £2 15/; light porkers, £1 1/; store pigs, to 19/:i; well-grown weaners, 16/9; smaller, 12/6 to 14/6; Berkshire sows to farrow, 4gns. to 44gns.; backward, 3gns.; crossbred sows, 2igns.
