The demand was good for a very fair yarding of all classes of horses offered by Messrs Alfred Backhand and Sons, Ltd., yesterday. There was practically a total clearance at firm values. Medium draughts made from £2B to £34; good farm horsee, £2l to £25; other farm horses, £lO to £IS 10/; good hacks, £6 to £lO 10/; ordinary hacks and light harness horses, £1 10/ to £7 10/; Shetland ponies, £4 10/ to £6.
