YESTERDAY’S DECISIONS. The Whangarci Harbour Board, which mot yesterday, was presided over by Hr .T. A, Finlayson. Kioreroa Road, A letter was received from the Borough Council stating that the council liad adopted the line of road to Kinreroa through Harbour Board reclamation and the north-eastern corner of Hoey Bros’ land, and would form the road to the borough boundary, approximately LH chains from the Waiarohia River and Avould accept the board's offer to construct a bridge over the river at a. cost of £4l o. Some misunderstanding arose regarding the legalisation survey of the road. It. was stated by Mr Finlayson that the borough would survey and legalise .the road as soon as it was formed. Mr ,T. H. Holmes was of opinion that the question should be dealt with before the road was formed . it was decided that Air Finlayson should approach the district engineer, in order to have the legalisation and survey problem settled, and it was also decided to finalise the argument with Hooys. Trade For Kioreroa. The Auckland agents of the s.s. Abel | Tasman, which is hi the New ZealandAustraliau trade, intimated their desire t o bunker the steamer at the Railway Wharf at Kioreroa. The engineer-secretary, Air W. M. Fraser, reported that he had been called on by a representative of an oil company and the master of an oil tanker, and at their request he had shown them plans of the harbour and accompanied them to Kioreroa. These two intimations were received it being pointed out that these inquiries further stressed the need for a road. Trawling Prohibition, The secretary reported that Whangarei fishermen were loud in their complaints against Auckland trawlers operating in Waipu (or Bream) Bay. On investigating the matter, it had been ascertained that tormerly the ; local Jishermen depended almost entire|ly on long line fishing in Bream Ray, j Put the area, was being depleted as a result of regular seine-netting ami trawling on the ground. This was usually carried out at night time. It was strongly recommended that seine“netling and trawling be prohibited inside a straight line from Bream Head to Bream Tail. it was decided to recommend to the .Marine Department that seine fishing .inside a straight line from Bream Bead to Bream Tail be prohibited.
