KINGSFORD SMITH ENTERS
WILL USE .“MYSTERY” PLANE
(Received 9 a.in.) ' SYDNEY, April 12. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith announced today that he has.entered for the Centenary air race from London to Melbourne. IU will use a Comet, one of the six British “ mystery-’ machines especially • built for tlm race.
The cost of the machine is being defrayed by an anonymous Australian backer.
Sir Charles’ co-pilot in the race u ill be Mr P. G. Tavlor.
They will leave for England in July to test the machine.

(Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day,
Running into bad weather and unable to reach Mascot aerodrome yesterday before nightfall, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, who was accompanied by his wife, landed on the Seven-Mile Beach, Gerringong, SO miles south of Sydney.
