RAILWAYS REVENUE
MARKED INCREASE. (Per Press Association.—Copyright.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The chairman of the Railways Board, Mr 11. H. Sterling, yesterday announced particulars of the ihianeial returns of the railways for the four-weekly period which ended on March ?>. Revenue showed an increase of £14,434, and working expenses an increase of £.11,082 for the period, giving an increase in not revenue of £2,752, as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. For the portion of the financial year from April 1. 1000, to March 3, DIM, revenue has increased hy £21(1,50(5, and expenditure lias decreased by £lO,OBll, giving an increase in not revenue of £22(5,589,
