Joseph Matthews and Mrs. Matthews, Mr. William Gilbert Puckey and Mrs. Puckey. The occasion marked the centenary, to the day, of the payment cf the purchase price by the Church Missionary Society for the land purchased at Kaitaia for the mission. On this and the following pages is published a selection of historical information which is of especial interest in view of the celebrations which took place on Sunday, and which should be preserved by Northerners, as it constitutes a valuable record of the early days of this territory.
