THE NEXT SESSION

IMPORTANT TASKS. STATE OF DAIRY INDUSTRY. REMARKS BY MR FORBES. FINANCES IMPROVING. (For Press Association. —Copyright.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Prime Minister, the Rt, Hon. 0. W. Forbes, sfud last evening that, although the date of reassembly of Parliament had not yet been fixed, it would probably be in June. Mr Forbes said a great deal would depend on the work of the Tariff Commission and when its report was available. Even then much would depend on the amount of time necessary for the Government to study the report. However, the indications were that Parliament would meet as usual in June. One of the important tasks of the session would concern the state of the dairy industry. Commenting on the. approach of the end of the financial year, Mr Forbes •said that there had certainly boon some improvement in revenue from customs and .other sources, which was pleasing. Tie could say nothing about the extent of the improvement until lie saw the figures, but the receipts wore better than had been estimated, and the Government would be helped by the change. , £C The improved position is an assurance of more confidence on the part of the community, and it shows that people are now doing some of the things they had suspended for so long',” said Mr Forbes. “I was in a shop today when a dealer in building supplies said his business had never boon better. I have been very pleased to learn that people are now beginning to move instead of standing still, as they have done for so long.' }
