THE PLAZA. ‘‘THE SQUATTER’S DAUGHTER. Gjhere is enough variety in the ‘‘Squatter’s Daughter” to suit the most, exacting taste—action, drama, romance, combined with excellent, photography of Australian station life, all making for first-class entertainment. The latest, film was produced, not as a sequel to the ‘‘Selection” series, but as ah example of typical Australian back-country life. The producer has caught the true local atmosphere with its big sheep stations, its vast stretches of bushland, and station life generally. The story is woven round' two neighbouring farm stations; •Waratah and Enderby, where, during the absence overseas of ‘‘lronbark” Shcrington, of. Waratah, liis son, and the rascally manager attempt, to drive the owners of Enderby, .loan Knderby, and her lame brother, Jim, from their holding. The feud develops with interest, the Enderby’s lighting a losing battle, until they are assisted by a mysterious stranger, Wayne Eidgeway, whom Joan finds injured on her property. Events then move rapidly, and after a succession of exciting episodes, culminate with Joan and her employees being trapped by a raging bush lire while droving a large mob of sheep. At this point Joan’s romance with the stranger roaches a fitting climax satisfactory enough to please everyone. Included in the supports was a welcome reappearance of Richard Tauber, ‘‘The Squatter’s Daughter” lias been secured for three nights only, and bookings are heavy at the Plaza.
