A further sensation has occurred as a sequel to the Stavisky scandal. The, police found in-the-forest at : Fontainebleau the body of M. Blanchard, a high official in the Ministry of'Ag* riculture, who had been questioned at the judicial inquiry.
Deceased’s throat was cut. He.l)lJ-fl loft a note for his wife, saying he intended to commit suicide.
The name that -was alleged to. have been* CCTardicu” .on the. counterfoil of one of: Stavi&ky’s - cheques has proved to bo that of a house decorator niuned Tardis, to whom ’; the .swindler gave substantial orders. ••
