East times were recorded in three events at the Te Aroha Jockey Club’s annual meeting on Saturday, namely, Master Brierly in the Berries Memorial Cup, Star Artist in the open sprint, and Golden Sceptre in the Champion. Hack Handicap. Double figure dividends were paid by Golden Sceptre and Solomon. The totalisator turnover amounted to £25,020 10/, coinfared with £24,204 on the first day last year, an increase of fLIOa lb'. Events decided after going to press on Saturday resulted:-

Time, 1.40, An Inquiry. An inquiry into the falling of Riotous and llnoco in the tluakaka Hurdles was held by the judicial committee, and it was found to be p lively accidental. The mishap was attributed to Riotous getting on the heels of another horse and falling, tjnoco going over the top of him. The riders of the horses, C. Thomson and D, .T. Dnrgess, escaped injury, although the former Was shaken.
