(Per Press Association. — CopvrlfrhtA HASTINGS, This Day: The Hastings Borough unemployment officials estimate that fully 80 per cent of the unemployed ignored the call for a strike ■ yesterday morning and wont on to the job. It was.eonsidered that by today very few would not be at work as'usual. The result of the. recent ballot Was reported to be virtually in favour of the strike. 1

Approximately 300 men jn the Grey district joined the unemployed, strike yesterday. .The response to the call equalled 05 per cent, and it included men at Greymouth, Blackball, Cobden, Brunner and a proportion of..those in the Grey County. The strikers . are organising their own relief meetings.
