CENTRE RECORDS. TITLE-HOLDER BEATEN. (Per Press Association— r 'oDvrlght.l j NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. | Three centre records were broken and one equalled at the ‘West Coast, North Island centre,.championships on, Saturday. The track was somewhat, alow because! of recent rains and heavy dew. The sports provided a contest between Wanganui and Taranaki subcentres, Manawatu not being represented. Taranaki won 17 titles and Wanganui 7. New centre records were as fol-lows:—Half-mile walk: C. W. Coleman, Eltham, 3m 3 2-fis. Mile walk: S. C. Coleman, Eltham, Om (10 4-ss. Putting the shot: A. D. Adlam, Stratford, 3Oft llins. The' Taranaki ladies’ relay team equalled the 440 yards’ record of 03 l-ss. S. A. Black, New Plymouth, won tho 220 yards and 440 yards titles after fast races, being 2-0 and o-fiths of a second respectively outside the centre record. -L Wade, Wanganui, New Zealand title-holder, was beaten by the New Plymouth youth, M. Carteris, in the 3 miles’ cycle race.
