SECOND OFFERING. CONTINENT TAKES PIECES. TOP PRICE 25}D. (Per Press Association.— ConyrlphtA DUNEDIN, This Day. At the second Dunedin ■wool sole, 30,00 bales wore opened this morning before a full bench of buyers. At the start Continental buyers were active, especially for fine wools, but' Bradford came in later, and in addition to buying fine, took the coarser sorts. The prices wore about the same as at Invercargill, pieces still being in demand by Continental buyers. The top price, so far, is 25)d for eight bales of super halfbrcd hogget, which-is Id to lid up on the last Dunedin sale. Crossbreds are about the same. As the sale progressed, competition was keen for the fine wools and finer typos of crossbred. The prevailing’ increase of Id for wools was maintained, and 23-i J-d was paid for a line of halfbred ewes, also the same for superfine halfbreds.
Gome stylish crossbred bin wool was sought by .Japan at 22]d, the same class having produced lOd at the last sale.
The outstanding feature of the sale is the manner in which the Continent is swallowing good quality pieces at present.
