RAROTONGANS’ OFFERING
GREATLY APPRECIATED HAKAS. After the church service, before many thousands of people, tin* Wanganui and Taranaki Maoris gave displays of haka and poi dancing, drawing great applause from the spectators, A party of Ra ro tonga ns, the maids dressed in light blue jumpers, and mats of white and pale red, the men in blue singlets, mats and grey trousers, took the crowd by storm. Their singing and dancing were accompanied by guitars and an aecordeon. The items were melodious and picturesque, and no one. was more appreciative than were their Maori hosts.
