FURTHER, INCREASES. The price fixed by the Commonwealth Bank for gold, including jewellery, lodged at the Melbourne Mint,

for the week ended January 5, was at the rate of approximately £7/3/4 a standard ounce (22 carats), equal to a premium of 84.04 per cent. The price was Bd. higher on the week. The price an ounce fine was £7/16/4, a rise of Bd. on the week.
