FIRST REGISTERED IN CITY. OVERWHELMING RUSH, (Received 10.30 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. The opening of the first registered betting shop in the city caused tremendous excitement. Although twenty bookmakers were in attendance, they were unable to cope with the rush of business, which exceeded all expectations. Thousands fought madly to enter the basement of Tattersall’s Club, where bets were being accepted on the Melbourne races, as there was no meeting in Adelaide.
