QUIET MORNING.

AUCKLAND, This Day,
Business on the Stock Exchange opened quietly this morning, and at the first call only three sales were recorded, Bank of New Zealands had fresh business at £2 7/9, but then eased a little,, with sellers prepared to take Id less. National. of Australasias were on offer, the ordinaries at £l3 12/6, and the"£s paid at £6 12/6. - Insurances were very firm and buyers for New Zealands advanced their offers to £2 5/9 without attracting holders to a declaration. Buyers advanced their offers for Devonport Steams to £1 1/ and for Mosgiel Woollens £9 2/6, but in neither case were sellers forthcoming. New Zealand Refrigerating shares were in demand at 19/6 for the ordinaries, and 9/7 for the eons. Waihis were asked for at £1 6/8, but lowest sellers asked £1 7/. Government stocks were in steady demand at late rates and there was a good inquiry for local body debentures. Noon. Call. The following sales were recorded, at the noon call; Bank of New Zealand, £2 7/9; South British, £3 13/6; Goldsboro Mort, £1 1.1/3, £1 .11/0; Pukomivo, £1 2/; Canterbury Moat, £lO 10/; Gear Moat, £1 13/; N.Z.
