ON ELLERSLIE TRACKS,
GOOD FOUR BY GAY BRONEY, GOING A BIT GREASY. (Special to “Northern Advocate,”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Heavy overnight rain made the going a bit greasy at Ellerslio this morning, and there was not as much fast work as usual. No. 2 grass track was open, and the sand, tan, and two-year-old tracks were also in use. The best sprint of the morning was that ol Gay Bronoy, who beat My Money and Royal Appellant over half a mile in 50 l-ssec. The two-year-olds, Sporting Song and Seven Seas were together at the end of two furlongs, rim in 26 4-ssee, doing it comfortably. Lady Diana and Alorelnt finished together at the conclusion of half a mile, which took .)2 l-.isee, both hitting out vorv freely.
Prince Colossus and Lord Va] were both given useful work, without being required to make time. Gay Rose ran her lasl three furlongs in 39sec. She could have done a good deal belter.

WINOOKA’S RACE HOOF IN GOOD CONDITION (Received 1.20 p.m.) LAUREL (N.Y.I, October 20. M. Poison, trainer of Wiuooka, reports that the hors('’s hoof is in good condition to-day, and will In l in excellent condition fur Wednesday’s race, barring accidents. Me is still worried as to the conditions of the track, as further rain is predicted, and i lie track dries slowly. The trainer announced (hat he cabled Wiuooka’s owners asking permission to keep the horse in America for an appearance at Hilenli Park, Miami, during the winter, probably later in Febrna ry. Poison is returning to Australia in mid-November, and will go back to America in February if the owners decide to leave Winooka here.
