Reporting on the Frauktou stock sale yesterday, the Farmers’ Co-oper-ative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., states that there was a good yarding of sheep, values being generally unchanged. Rales for ewes were a shade easier. A .heavy yarding of spring - lambs caused export buyers to operate quietly, prices showing little alteration on previous quotations. Fat cattle were in smaller supply than usual. Prices for lighter weight ox beef showed a firming tendency, while heavier cattle remained unchanged. A few pens of prime cattle sold under keen competition at considerably advanced rates. Store cattle of all classes were penned in small numbers,

and showed no change in value. A fairly heavy yarding of pigs came forward, and values showed little alteration. A heavy yarding of stores met with keen competition until near the close of the sate, when values declined.

KAITAIA STOCK SALE. A GOOD YARDING. The North Auckland Farmers’ Coop., Ltd., hold their monthly cattle sale at Kaitaia on Tuesday. There was a good yarding of GOO head, including 150 Hereford, steers. Competition was keen for beef, and good quality steers, but other classes were hard to quit. Buyers were in attendance from Waiotira, Whangarei, Kawakawa and various parts of the North. Best dairy heifers made £3 10/ to £4; inferior dairy heifers, 00/ to £0; (light fat steers, £o 7/0 to £o 10/; light prime fat heifers, £4 .17/0; medium fat cows, £0 10/ to £4 1/; light fat cows, £2 10/ to £3 7/0; 2-year-old Hereford steers, £2 0/ to £2 10/; yearling Hereford steers, 38/ to £2 •1 /; yearling Shorthorn steers, 27/ to £2 4/; coloured 3-year-old steers, 30/ to £2 10/; yearling Jersey heifers of good quality, £2 to £2 4/; inferior ‘yearling heifers, 2.1/ to 31/; mixed coloured yearling steers, 10/ to 23/; fresh store cows, 27/ to 30/: aged and thin cows, 12/ to 17/. At Iho fortnightly sale of hides and sheepskins hold yesterday, there was a slight easing in some sections of the market, but best grades of ox hides sold to firm inquiry. The tallow market -was unchanged. Prices for best grades were: —Ox, heavy, •'(1 to Gd; medium, 53d to o 7-Sd; light, Id to did; cow, heavy and medium, fid to 'Ed; light, m}d to Hid; yearling, heavy, Gd to light, 7d to 7-id'; calfskins, Gib to 81b, 8d to Sid; 31b to dlb, 7id to 8d; cut and faulty, 5d to Gd, Dried 'Sheepskins. Three-quarter to full wool, medium to fine crossbred, Gid to 7d; coarse crossbred, 5M to 63d; damaged and faulty, 4d to 4-id; half wools, medium to fine crossbred, did to Gd; coarse crossbred, 4-id to 43d; damaged and faulty, 3d to 3id; lambskins and hoggets, fine crossbred, Gid to 7d; damaged and faulty, 43d to sid.
