REV. E. H. WYATT DEAD

LINK WITH WHANGARET. NEWSPAPER ASSOCIATION. The death occurred in Auckland yesterday of the Rev. Edgar Herbert Wyatt, of 4 Russell Street, Devonport, a retired Anglican clergyman. Mr Wyatt was born in England and was educated at New College, Oxford. He came to New Zealand as a young man, arriving in the late seventies, and was ordained in 1870. For some years Mr Wyatt worked in various parishes in the Canterbury province, and from 1906 to 3010 was engaged in missionary work in the Auckland diocese. After a period of two years spent as chaplain at Levuka, Fiji, he returned to Auckland and assisted for some time in the Devonport parish, Mr Wyatt retired from active church work some years ago. He was interested in journalism, and for some time, about 05 years ago, conducted a weekly newspaper in Whangarei. Of recent years lie had been living in retirement in Devonport. Mr Wyatt is survived hy a wife and an adult family.
