A NEW FIND. The report of a gold find at roofs near Boss, has been confirmed, and the country is spoken of very highly, states the Hokitika correspondent of the “Christchurch Times.’ ’ Prospectors following up an old tunnel where an earlier prospector had made a diligent searclj for the lode, encountered an obstruction on the side of the tunnel. It was necessary to use explosives to clear the obstruction, and by a happy chance a larger charge than eustoriiarily was used. The charge did more than was required, and exposed quartz of substantial width which was found to carry good gold. The discovery is now being followed up, and may prove the main lode for which a good deal of prospecting has. been done for many years.
