CURRENT WHANGAREI PRICES. Fruit. A copious supply of all lines leaves little to be reported on the fruit market this week. Apples and pears are exceedingly plentiful, while bananas are readily obtainable. Following are current quotations:— Mandarins, .1/ to 2/ per dozen; Fiji bananas, 4d lb; Island oranges, 2/(i dozen; Californian, 1/1) to 2/(5; Poormans, 2d lb; apples, Dunns 3d lb, Delicious 3d, Granny Smith 4d, Stunner 4d, Ballarats 4d, Red Romes 3d and 4d, Statesman 3d; lemons, IGd to M/G dozen; pears, Winter Coles od lb, Winter Nelis 5d lb; tree tomatoes, 4d lb.
Vegetables. Island tomatoes have made their appearanee ou the market, and although as yet only a few are to hand, more are expected. A choice line of the Avondale hothouse variety is* also in stock and is meeting a ready market. Rhubarb is quite plentiful and there are any amount of cauliflowers, cabbages, carrots, kumaras, swedes, and parsnips about.
