FARMERS’ UNION
MAUNGATAPERE BRANCH. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of members of , the Maungatapere branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held at the hall on Wednesday evening. The president, Mr E. Johnson, presided ' over about a dozen members. The president gave an interesting : resume of the activities of the branch, ‘r and the union generally during the - year. Meetings had been addressed during the summer by Mr A. E. Rob;j Inion".'and. Mr J. G. Barclay .on the subject of currency reform, and it was hoped to have an address on the same Subject* by Mr A.' J. Murdoch, M.P. for MarSden, in the near future. . Mention was-also made of the fact A that, a resolution was passed during the year that visitors be, welcomed to attend and take part in discussions of general interest at branch meetConcluding his remarks, the presi--1 dent thanked the executive and members of, the branch for the hearty cooperation and support accorded him during the year. Johnson and' DavisyCully; branch delegate, the president. * ■ The financial statement showed the branch to be in a healthy condition, there being a credit of £37, ' Routine business was then transacted and discussion followed on matters of general interest.
