THROUGH WINDOW

MOTOR CYCLIST. BANK STREET MISHAP. , It was- : unfortunate for a young .motor' cyclist, K. Dempster, of Wliaka.para/'that just as he was turning to go round to the back of Mr D. Garton’s cycle shop in Bank Street, 1 this morning, a lady should have chosen that moment to walk across the alleyway. A loud crash announced the fact that Dempster, who was travelling very slowly, had turned off in an /attempt to pull up his machine just outside the front door, and had failed. Instead, he finished up with half the machine through the plate-glass -window. The cyclist was very lucky in escaping without a scratch, and the machine also did not suffer. But ho made a’ wreck of Mr Garton’s window, and left plate-glass scattered all over the pavement.
