MARKETS AVAILABLE.
INFORMATION FOR GROWERS. ASSOCIATION SUGGESTED. The Whangarei Chamber of Commerce has finalised the -citrus fruit question, which has been occupying its attention for some time past. In reply to inquiries made in the south, several letters were received stating that there was an excellent market, and providing much valuable information in regard to marketing facilities. These were published yesterday and were considered by the chamber last ' evening. There was not a great deal of discussion. Mr Stringer said he considered the information was for the good of the North and that it should be passed on to growers. Ho moved that the infoimation be handed on to growers in the district, and that it be a recommendation that they form an association in the district. There was plenty of excellent grapefruit in New Zealand, Mr Stringer said, but it was not marketed properly. There lay the trouble, and it had been told to him by a local grower that he always received satisfactory prices because he graded and packed his fruit properly. There was a tremendous amount of lemons grown in the North, but not many reached southern markets. The motion was carried.
