ESCAPE FROM LOCK-UP

TWO ARRESTS MADE. COMMITTAL FOR SENTENCE. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. In the Police Court at Balelntha today, Charles George Wyber, aged 17, was charged with escaping from custody. Another youth, William John .lardine, was charged with assisting Wyber to escape, Wyber was arrested on a charge ot obscene language. Later a constable saw .lardine interfering with the lockup door and ou investigating found the cell door open. The prisoner had escaped. Both were afterwards arrested. Wyber said he was lying down when someone caught him by the foot, telling him to go for his life. Both accused wore committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
