AUSTRIAN INDEPENDENCE
ITALY’S SHARE OF LOAN. COMPACT WITH VATICAN CITY. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, June 3. Signor Mussolini has agreed to undertake Italy’s share of £1,000,000 in the international loan to be made to Austria, which is regarded as a gesture in favour of Austrian independence.
Dr. Dollfuss, the Austrian Chancellor, has signed a concordat between Austria and the Vatican City. He was subsequently the guest of Signor Mussolini at dinner.
