■SUGAR COMPANY CHAIRMAN. TRIBUTES TO MR KNOX. (Received 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, M-ay 3. At today’s_ half-yearly mooting of the Colonial Sugar Refining Co., Ltd,, the announcement was made of the retirement in February last of Mr Edward William Knox, as chairman and managing director of the company. Appreciative references-were made to his services and the part he had played in the company’s success. The ‘ ‘ Sydney .Morning Herald ’ in. a tribute says: “Mr Knox’s retirement marks the close of a distinguished career with the company for more than 60 rears. The sugar industry asva whole is indebted to him for its technical efficiency and present status... He was actively associated also the-devel-opment on sound linos of large agricultural areas in Queensland and northern New South Wales.
