A block of buildings in Hereford Street, Christchurch, with a frontage of ;i.“> feet and a depth of 05 feet, belonging to the estate of the late Sir Joseph Ward, was submitted to auction last Friday. The property has upon it a two-storeyed brick building, occupied by the National Mutual Life Association and other tenants. The freehold was put up to auction in order to wind up the estate. There was a large attendance, and bidding opened at £3OOO, the property subsequently being passed in at £4750.
