EULOGY OF BENCH AND BAR

Impressive tributes were paid in the Supreme Court today by Bench and Bar to the memory of Sir Alexander Gray, K.C. The Chief Justice, Sir .Michael Myers, said all knew Sir Alexander Gray’s sterling qualities and upright character, and when in January last- he had a. knighthood conferred upon him, it was universally acclaimed an honour which Ids distinguished career and service to the profession and the community had worthily earned. The legal profession had lost a wise counsellor and an uprig'ht, trusty leader, whose place would be exceedingly difficult to fill.
Tributes on behalf of the Bar Avere paid by Mr C. H. Treadwell, vicepresident of the New- Zealand Law Society, and. Air E. P. Hay, president of the Wellington District Law Society.
