BLAZE ABOARD STEAMER
CRUISER TO RESCUE. (Received noon.) GIBRALTAR, April 18. In response to a wireless appeal from the copra-laden steamer Benholm, from Suva, which had a fire in the after-hold shelter-deck, the cruiser Leander transferred a smoke-hel-meted party to the ship, which she escorted to Calaburra, where salvaging is in progress.
