Mrs. Mollison, who left Cape Town on December 11 on a record-breaking flight to Croydon, left Oran, Algeria, at 5 a.m. yesterday and arrived at Le Bourget, Paris, at 4 p.m. She reached Croydon at 12.0 p.m. to-day.

Mrs. .Mollison achieved a Cape TownLe Bourget record. Tho aviatrix tried hard to reach Croydon yesterday, but when above Beauvais ran into a fog bank, and as night was at hand decided to land at; Le Bourget, which she found with difficulty. She arrived exhausted, but was warmly welcomed.

Just after midday yesterday the White Star aeroplane No. 2 just escaped destruction by tire while it was standing at the Taicri aerodrome. Fortunately a staff member noticed smoke from the pilot’s cockpit and found that the pilot’s helmet and cushion were on tire. He quicklj” extinguished the blaze.

It is considered that the sun’s rays, focussed by goggles left in the cockpit, were the cause of the outbreak.
