BANKING DULL
(Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day
Bidding at this morning’s call of the Auckland Stock Exchange was quiet, with many chang’es, usually in favour of buyers. Government stocks were an exception, and for Si’s buyers advanced to £9B 3 0/-.
The banking section was dull, with New Zealand’s and Commercials the only lines asked 'for. The former had business at £2 0/3, after which buyers stayed in at £2. For Commercials 13/4 was the highest bid. Nationals were offered (Id lower at £3 7/-. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile scrip was available £•"■ cheaper at £45. Buyers of Woolworths prof, moved up to £1 8/:!, bringing’ a seller at £1 33/-.
Timber shares were in poor demand and offers of Kauris at 3 0/- and L. 0.8. at £1 0/(5 failed to attract buyers.
