TREAT FOR UNEMPLOYED. LAMB OR WETHER? Arrangements for Christmas supplies Avero discussed at a special meeting of the Whangarei Moat Relief Committee, held on Tuesday. It was proposed to distribute lamb to needy families. On Tuesday this matter was fully inquired into. For lambs aA r eragiug about 30 pounds the committee Avould have to pay 10/, whereas prime wethers, at 60 pounds, were offered for 11/. If wethers Avere decided upon, the distribution could be increased considerably. A sub-committee comprising Messrs Ross, Hopper, N. Drummond and Wilton, Avas set up to meet the Citizens' Relief Committee yesterday.
