W A Tins ON THE ETSE. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. The chief features at this morning’s call on the Stock Exchange was the brisk demand for Waihi shares, which resulted in a sharp rise in prices. Sales were - made from IS/2 to IS/6, after which there were still buyers in at the higher figure with holders asking 3d more.
lii the same section Alexandra mines were firm and there were buyers at 19/, with no sellers. Government 41 stocks were firm and buyers advanced their limits to £97 ;'/, but 51 per cents seemed easier, with inscribed parcels on offer at par.
New Zealand Insurances were in keen request, and after sales last evening at 4,°./I0 and 45/11, holders stood out this morning for £2 4/3. The banking section showed little animation. For New Zoalands the best, offer was £2 (i/, and for Commercials 14/3, Ollier classes were dull. Noon Call. The following sales were recorded at the noon call: Auckland Gas, £1 1/1; Colonial 'Sugar, £4O; King Solomon, 1/10; Waihi Junction (2), 3/5; ,Mt, l.yell, £ I n/n.
