WHAT IS ROUND THE CORNER?
(To the Editor.) Sir,—i. have noticed in recent issues of the daily press some very interesting items of nows. I would like to quote a few. (I) Butter market dull, and about thirteen shillings per cm. loss than it was this time last year, (2) Mutton practically not worth sending Home. (3) Lamb worth about one half of what it was last season. (4) Choose market dull and about f 5/ per ewl. loss than the corresponding period last year. (5) Unemployment increasing both here and at Homo, thus decreasing purchasing power, ((i) Mr Coates, speaking at Pukekohe, I think it was, gives us a gentle warning that there will have to be another £3,000,000 of money to be found before the Budget can be balanced. There are many other things that I could refer to but there is only one other that I will mention, and that is the oftrepeated assertion that there are many .signs that we are now definitely turning the corner. Now, sir, there is just one question I would like to ask and that is: what lies ahead of ns when wo get around this corner? In view of the above mentioned facts, it causes oiio furiously to think. I am, etc., COCKATOO.
