WHOSE LIABILITY?
The question of who would be liable iu the event of a cricket ball hit through .a house window or the windscreen of a car injuring someone, was
raised at the meeting of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association on Tuesday by Mr W. J. V. Hamilton . (states the "Christchurch Star"). He said that recently a ball had been hit through the window of a house facing By den-, ham Park. They had had no trouble on that occasion, but the question of liability might arise in the future. After members had embarked on a short discussion of the position, Mr W. Simpson asked whether they should consider the liability question in open meeting. Mr A. Dey: "We’re only ‘bush lawyers, ■' anyway.’-’ Mr C. S, Thompson declared that it was a matter for solicitors. After .members had expressed the view that such a situation could easily arise on other grounds, particularly Rugby Park, the meeting concluded the discussion in committee.
